About Davis, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in Carteret County, Davis is a North Carolina unincorporated area with about 425 residents. This community is situated on the northwestern shore of Core Sound between Oyster Creek and Jarrett Bay. U.S. Route 70 passes through Davis and leads 18 miles to Beaufort, and the town is also near the neighboring communities of Marshallberg and Harkers Island.
While this coastal community isn’t home to many major attractions, there are still a few important destinations in the area. Cape Lookout Cabins & Camps offer lodging accommodations for visitors, and those that wish to get out on the water might like to visit Cape Lookout Kayak Rentals. Ferry access is available in Davis to take visitors to Core Banks, a barrier island that makes up part of the Cape Lookout National Seashore. There are also several markets and restaurants that offer fresh seafood, including Willis Seafood Market, Smith Homer Seafood, and Big Oak Drive In & Bar-B-Que.
The weather in Davis is one of the main reasons that people are attracted to this part of North Carolina. While other parts of the country experience snow, ice, and frigid winds, Davis offers pleasant conditions with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. However, overnight lows often fall below the freezing point, so residents will use their home heating system to stay comfortable. Both heat pumps and furnace systems are used in the region, and both can provide energy efficient heat.
Summers in Davis serve as a great time to visit the beach to cool off, especially when high temperatures reach into the 90s. Muggy conditions also exist due to sea breezes from the Atlantic, so the right cooling system is a necessity. Your local HVAC technician can help you to choose the right system for your home, taking SEER ratings into account. Higher ratings indicate greater energy efficiency and can help to keep your utility costs affordable.
